Knott County HRC’s Karen Watts, the 2017 KAHCF Volunteer of the Year winner, was honored by the Kentucky River Development District and given the 2018 Elder Abuse Nursing Home Volunteer Award.
Watts’ mother, Nadinne Waddell, accepted the award on her behalf and took a photo with Miss Kentucky to commemorate the achievement since Watts could not attend the event. The facility has expressed an enormous amount of pride regarding the recognition of Watts’ contribution and her hard work and volunteering to better the lives of the residents at the Knott County facility.
“Karen and Nadine have a heart of gold,” said Knott Co. HRC employee Sharon White. “They love our residents.”
It is becoming a common occurrence for Knott County HRC to be recognized for the quality people and work in the Hindman facility. During the 2017 KAHCF Quality Awards, Knott County HRC was named the No. 3 best facility in the state.
